OpenHa Goals

Because most commercial HA Cluster are too complex (and too expensive ...) for my needs, I try to build an HA software:

• easy to use, understand and maintain,
• able to work on most Unix platform,
• without bugs ;-)

Main features

• heartbeat links: network (multicast) and disk (raw device, SCSI or FCAL), up to 16,
• services: up to 16 services,
• nodes: up to 16 nodes,
• programming language: C, with glib and gtk+,
• a small GUI, made with the help of glade,
• works fine on: Linux ans Solaris,
• not tested, but might work on: AIX, TRU64 (but these one have good proprietary HA software ...)

Status

As the core of the system works fine from a long time, only "aesthetic" modifications are actually planned:

• replace the gui interface by something else (a tiny web server ?),
• add more controls in service creation,
• put most functions in a shared lib,
• change the status names,
• make the code a bit more readable,
• add some docs
• ...
